There are certain spots in the yard where our one dog won’t walk. They aren’t always the same spots – the no-go zones seem to float around after a few days in one space. The other day I watched her NOT cross 15 feet of open space when I called her to me and instead go all the way around to another opening in the fenced pasture to get to me. I can rationalize it by saying that they smell something we don’t, but I’m not sure that really gets to the heart of the matter. Sometimes I think these floating no-go zones are designated by fairies that only the dogs can see. They are like wandering fairy camps and the dogs are smart enough not to tromp through them. I think I should pay more attention to the dogs from now on – LOL.
