Extra Purple Petunias

A hanging basket of electric magenta-purple petunias that has taken up residence on our front porch roof overhang…

That’s all for today – hope everyone’s having a good weekend!

Celtic Triple Spiral Design

celtic triple spiral designI’ve got a new Celtic design to share! The Celtic Triple Spiral design is an ancient pagan symbol for the triple goddess and unity of the self, as well as a modern reflection of the Christian trinity. It’s also known to represent the three stages of life as ‘mother, maiden, crone’ and versions of it appear in the Book of Kells and the shape is carved into the stone at Newgrange in Ireland.

My ‘Art of FoxVox’ Celtic triple spiral design, with it’s center triangle and roughish edging, is now available in my online shop on t-shirts and sweatshirts, and, in subtle hues of grey and design layering, on greeting cards, tile keepsake boxes, ornaments, SIGG water bottles, mugs, the works!

Click here, or any of the selected product images below to browse the entire selection of Celtic Triple Spiral products in my shop…

I also have a fine art print available in my gallery. The triple spiral has many layers which gives the print depth while retaining the simplicity of design of the original symbol. Click on the framed print example below to buy framed OR unframed prints:

As always, thanks for looking! 🙂

Diamond In The Rough

This is another ‘rural decay’ photograph of the neighbor’s barn. Or rather of an old door on the barn, with tremendously peeling paint and a shiny black ‘diamond’ window in the middle – definitely a ‘diamond in the rough’. (Yes, yes, it’s not really a diamond, but a square at a 45 degree angle, but go away – you’re cramping my poetic license – LOL.)

I also love how the bottom 2 feet of door is completely stripped of paint. I’m guessing this is because of rain, or more likely snow accumulations during the winter piling up on the ground there.

Click on the image or click here to see a larger, much more detailed version of this image, as well as to buy framed or unframed prints. Nothing brightens up a wall like an image of peeling paint! (Ummm… Uh… Hmmmm. Never mind.)

Tulip Trees Watercolor

A number of months ago, John brought home a pot of blooming tulips that were absolutely HUGE. Not just the flowers, but the stems themselves were thick and up to 18″ tall – they almost reminded me of big trees. Which gave me the idea to do a watercolor painting of tulips the scale of trees.

You know, sometimes you just have to use practically all the colors in the rainbow when you’re painting a picture like this. It’s surreal to begin with and then it’s all flowers and spring (and I’m sure there are invisible bunnies happily hopping around too – tra la la), well… yeah… rainbow colors. I guess I just have to face the fact that I’m just not the dark, moody imagery type. (Click the image or click here to get a framed or unframed print of Tulip Trees.)

And, how about a nice set of Tulip Trees greeting cards to send something annoyingly cheerful to cranky friends? Or a colorful journal to write down negative, brooding thoughts? Or a Tulip Tree magnet to further clutter up your refrigerator? *grin* Click any of the images below to see all the available Tulip Trees stuff in my t-shirt shop:

And thanks for looking!

Nature Abhors A Right Angle

Here’s a photo of another section of that old barn. This is just about the only part that is NOT covered in metal and has obviously been in direct contact with the elements for a while.

Nature really does abhor a right angle – it’s right at the top of the list, with vacuums. *grin*
