Turkeys In Trees

The other day I heard a bunch of branches cracking and dropping to the ground in one of the big trees out back. When I looked closely, I saw movement, and discovered a full grown turkey about 30 feet up (in the trees, not a 30 foot turkey), as well as a number of little turklets! This is the only photo I could get of them, as the excessively humid air was screwing with the camera autofocus and they were pretty far away, but at least I got one before they flew off to farther trees!

New Design: Celtic Coin Series – Chieftain King Vercingetorix

Celtic Coin Chieftain King Vercingetorix Baseball JerseyThe eighth and final (for now) design in my “Lost Tokens of the Ancients” Celtic coin series is based on a coin of the Arverni Tribe, from the Auvergne area of France, first century BC.

This spear and shield toting Warrior represents Chieftain King Vercingetorix who united tribes of Gauls in an ultimately unsuccessful revolt against Julius Caesar. Well, at least he tried!

The Celtic Chieftain King Vercingetorix Coin design comes on a wide selection of apparel and gift items! Click here or on any design below to browse through the entire selection:

Tire Wire

Aaaaaaaaaand this is the wire that popped my car tire yesterday just a few hundred feet from our driveway…

Tire-Popping Wire

We were, ironically perhaps, going to pick up John’s car at the mechanics. At the same time as I pressed the ‘air recirculate’ button on the dashboard there was this awful sound – so for a second I thought something had gotten stuck in the vent fan.  But, nope, wasn’t that.

After I drove slowly back to our driveway and really looked at the tire, I was going to cut it off as close to the tread as possible, using tin snips, but could tell it would still leak like crazy and that I shouldn’t drive on it.  Instead, I used the tin snips to pull it out like tweezers on a splinter. The tire was flat in less than a minute.

So I have a lovely donut (no sprinkles) on the car right now and get to buy two new tires tomorrow.  I’ve decided that I needed two new ones on the front anyway – makes me feel better. 🙂

New Design! Celtic Coin Series – King Burebista

Celtic Coin King Burebista T-shirtThe seventh, and next to last, design in the “Lost Tokens of the Ancients” Celtic coin series is based on a coin from Dacia, Thraco-Getae (Bulgaria/Romania area of the lower Danube), 2nd-1st Century BC. The stately figure is likely King Burebista, with eagle, who unified Celtic tribes in this area, but who also led plunder and conquest raids across central and SE europe until his assassination by someone from his own crew! The word next to his staff may be a version of the Greek word for King.

As with all of my designs, the Celtic King Burebista Coin design comes on a wide selection of apparel and gift items – not the kind of t-shirt you’ll find in the mall! Click here or on any Celtic King Burebista Coin design below to browse through the entire selection:

New Design: Celtic Coin Series – Horse Goddess Epona

Celtic Coin Epona Horse Goddess TshirtThe sixth design in the “Lost Tokens of the Ancients” Celtic coin series is based on a coin of Celtic Gaul, of the Parisii tribe (in what is now Paris, France). It features a Winged Horse, the Celtic Horse Goddess, Epona (‘Great Mare’ in the Gaulish language) and originates in the 1st Century BC.

This winged horse design is very stylized and artistically advanced – very cool!

Show here on a women’s violet t-shirt, the Celtic Horse Goddess Epona Coin design also comes on our wide selection of apparel and gift items! Click here or on any design below to browse through the entire selection of Celtic Coin Horse Goddess Epona T-shirts and Gifts:
