There’s a wonderful collection of old wooden produce boxes in the barn down the road, marked with the names of various local orchards/farms. Obviously, some of them are in better shape than others:

I don’t know what they are going to do with the boxes, if anything, as they’ve been there for years already. Perhaps eventually someone will take them at a flea market – area collectors would probably love these, no matter what condition they are in. Also, our landlord showed me one he had refinished once and it looked really nice – that would be a lot of sanding and varnishing though for all of those boxes. I don’t think I’d have the patience for doing more than a few myself!
