Suddenly they are just there. Hanging out on the shirts and pants we hang on the line outside to dry. Meandering on the windowsill in the bathroom. Hanging out near your elbow trying to be coy. We don’t know where they come from, or even if they HAVE an official name. They have wings, but they don’t fly much. They are oval and beige-ish and are usually less than a quarter inch long in total length. They seem to be rather solid or shelled in some way. They don’t seem to bite or sting. They do ‘fling’ well when flicked away, and don’t seem to get too upset at the sudden launches. We’re pretty sure they are watching us so ubiquitously for some nefarious purpose we have yet to discover. For now, we simply call this, “The Crunchy Bug Conspiracy”.
