I mentioned Lindows a few days ago – a (currently ‘vaporware’) operating system that’s based on Linux and would run Windows programs. Here’s another article about it, that explains why it would be such a cool idea and why microsoft and the hardware industry might NOT like it. Either way, if it works, it would allow us all to have a cheap, stable, OS, EASILY upgradable, that requires MUCH less computing power AND runs our favorite applications. It would also save most of the us the expense of having to buy NEW VERSIONS of the software that DOES have a Linux version in order to migrate. There are still a lot of ideas swirling around – I’m just rooting really hard for the Lindows team – this is definitely something I want to create in my reality! *grin*
