Just a cute ground squirrel photo today – managed to get a shot while it was sitting up like a prairie dog a few days ago. And this morning we looked out into the yard and saw one trying to chew on the metal spokes of my mountain bike – will have to check for teeth marks later! One more tidbit about ground squirrels? When they run their bodies flow like a little wave form, like fast, furry inch worms dashing across the yard. *grin*

Square Celtic Watercolor Pattern
In my incalculable cleverness, I have dubbed this painting “Celtic Watercolor Square”! Let all bow down before my brilliance in literal nomenclature!! *grin* Actually, this is a watercolor I did at least a year ago and had stuck in a book to help flatten it a bit more and pretty much forgot about it! Autumn Wind Watercolor Painting
“Autumn Wind” Watercolor – the textured swirls/background are done with salt dropped into the wet paint. I’ve always loved this effect and wanted to see where it would go. It’s interesting to see how the different paints and levels of water react to the salt differently. The composition came out a bit ‘flatter’ in feel than what I was picturing, but I’m sure this won’t be the last piece of leaf art I do, since I have a ‘thing’ for leaves – heh. I call this watercolor ‘Celtic Doorway’ – have always had a fascination with the idea of stonehenge and dolmens in general being markers for ley lines and energy spots or interdimensional portals. *grin* I’m also learning that my scanner sometimes has a problem with yellows – bleh!
