Dawning Colors is actually three separate 11″x14″ acrylic paintings, although they are a set, as you can see here:
The funny thing is that I started with the middle one, just playing with gradients. (When a friend came over and he saw the painting on the table in low light, he thought it looked like an interesting slab of smooth wood – funny!) But then I started another gradient and it worked so well with the first one, that I kept going until I had the three you see – Voilà ! Dawning Colors!
