In my continuing effort to widen my watercolor styles/abilities, I’ve used a lot of unusual textures for this pretty typical ‘single rose’ image. I also like how the rose is just a TOUCH past its prime, without having ever gone into full, spread-out, bloom.
Now is also a good time to give many thanks and kudos to the image library over at Wet Canvas, which is where I got the reference photos for this piece. They have a ton of images there, shared by other artists, if you’re looking for some inspiration!
[You can get this painting image on cards, shirts, refrigerator magnets, etc. or as various sized unframed prints: 4×5, 8×10, 9×12]
