I watched from the doorway of the laundromat – it was 2:30 p.m. and the sky grew darker and darker blue-grey until large drops finally started to fall. In moments the road in front of the laundromat was reflective and shiny, and cars driving by were making that SWOOSH noise. Why is this noteworthy? Because we’d only had small showers until now, and after a pretty sunny summer, our tank of water is low and our well was not pumping hardly at all. This is the kind of rain that will soak into the ground, and, if it rains all night, might even get the stream running again. It seems significant on multiple levels, as just this morning I said that I was unwilling to accept that we’d run out of water. Thank you, universe! 🙂
