At our front gate today I was buzzed by a large flock of California Quail. For those unfamiliar with California Quail, they are semi-large birds that fly low rather than soar, and make a lot of noise doing it… like someone flipping through a deck of cards right by your ear. 😉 I’m not embarrassed to say that I DUCKED, although I didn’t necessary QUAIL in fear…..
