It needs to rain here soon. A big rain. Rain where all the seeds cry, “THERE it is!” and stretch out and sprout and turn the countryside a new electric green. Rain that creates puddles and wet, shiny pavement and beads of water on the car. Rain that makes you breathe a sigh of relief when you hear it splattering against the roof. Rain that washes away a spring and summer of dry, dusty, still air.
