Interestingly enough, when the wren got in the house I kept singing that song the Chieftans performed that goes, “Oh, the wren, oh, the wren, is the king of all birds, on St. Stephen’s Day he got caught in the firs (?) so it’s up with the kettle and it’s down with the pan, won’t you give us a penny to bury the wren.” Since it’s on a Christmas CD, I assumed it was around the same time, and sure enough, St. Stephen’s Day is December 26th, and it’s also called Wren Day. Just FYI.
