John and dogs found a very large, very hairy tarantula spider strolling through our yard last night. Legs and all, it was about the size of a large palm. (not the tree, the one on your hand) They most often are found out and about when it’s mating season and sometimes we have to swerve around them on the road. (Since they don’t move very quickly, they’re a lot easier to avoid than the ground squirrels, who can’t seem to pick a direction and stick with it. Ugh.) The dogs wanted to play with it, but we just shined a bright flashlight on it for a while and stared while it stood frozen.
