Sorry my blog's been so quiet - that happens sometimes when I get inspired and focus intently on bringing an idea into fruition. I will tell you about it when it gets to the fruition stage and can post a link - LOL.
In other news, a bunch of my friends back east got together today and called me - they passed the phone around so I got to talk to everyone... almost like old times. The odd thing was that of the 4 guys who came, three of them were named "David". They seemed to be dealing well with the logistical difficulties however. *grin*
Ah, well, back to the project! Tweaking sometimes seems like a lifetime occupation.

Sometimes it takes a LONG TIME for pieces of an article to come together enough to form a coherent whole. I'd been trying to write a new article for our Conscious Creation site for more than two months. For a while, everything I came up with seemed old or something I'd already written about. Today though, I just sat down (after having had serious 'belief' breakthroughs over the past few days) and a 1500 word article came pouring out like watuh. (That's "water" in Brooklynese.) Ahhhh. I haven't lost it after all.

A while ago I heard the new Enya song on the radio. Then I didn't hear it for a while. A few days ago I heard a new version of it with a DRUM MACHINE in the background that made it sound SO cheap. If I was Enya, and my music producers did something like THAT to MY music just to try and make it 'sell', I'd march down to their offices with a loaded Uzi and explain to them why they should never EVER do something like that to my stuff again, and why they should try REALLY hard (while clicking off the safety) not to be so stupid in the future. UGH!

Around here we're used to driving through, well, lots of cow patties to get to the main road. However, every so often we run across a HUGE pile that seems almost purposefully 'stacked' high and in the center of our road. *grin* You just hope that you're really straddling it with the car because otherwise the undercarriage is going to bring bits with you wherever you go - LOL. Just thought you'd all like to know that. Fascinating, no? (rhetorical)
Oh, and why is blogger giving me a TEENSY little box to type the text into in Opera 5? Anyone? Anyone?

HEY! The ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of this blog (in its various designs and names) was YESTERDAY - and apparently I celebrated that by NOT POSTING. Oh, the irony. [insert overly dramatic gesture here] So - wow - a whole year. Wow. (I'm somehow reminded just now of Winona Ryder's pithy comments on war in the South Park movie.) Er... yeah. Wow. ;-)

I've mentioned before that in the Opera 5 browser, you can use a combination of right click and mouse gestures to go back, forward, reload, etc. Well, they're ridiculously easy to get used to - so much so that just today I was gesturing over and over again, wondering why the screen wasn't changing and why it wasn't working, when I realized I was in my EMAIL program instead of the browser - *snort* I love it when I catch myself being unconscious. *grin*

If you like classic or vintage fixtures and styles, there are a couple URLs I'd like to tell you about. First one is Renovator's, which has hardware, door knobs, porcelin sinks, you name it. The second is called Rejuvenation - they are based in Portland, Oregon and make the most beautiful hand-made lamps and fixtures - "authentic reproductions". They even sport some odd novelty fixtures like an old gas fixture replica of a metal bat holding a wand in his mouth with two bulbs coming out either end. *grin* Their paper catalog is pretty cool too - it comes with stories about the people who work there - one guy even got MARRIED in the store itself!

I had the opportunity yesterday to stand up for myself with our car insurance company to straighten out an error they had made. They admitted to the error, paid what they owed us, including the overdraft fees we were getting because of their error. Earlier in the day, I had ordered cheese on a burger and did NOT get the cheese, but had done nothing about it, figuring that it was only some pocket change and I was already a ways through the burger. Seems like if I didn't use THAT opportunity to stand up for myself that I was going to get another chance that I just COULDN'T avoid - LOL.

A few nights ago I had a dream that I was switching jobs, and last night I had a dream that I had 'graduated' - sounds like someone's trying to tell me something - LOL.
