So... if you've had enough of playing the Marbles game, try Brain Strain (shockwave). (Thanks to Janelle for the url.)

Yesterday, I was doing stuff on the computer and really had a hankering for a cookie - but we didn't have any cookies. I just thought, "It'd be great if John brought some home." But he hadn't been planning to stop at the store for anything. Yet - he walked in with a bag, and three boxes of girl scout cookies that he'd ordered at work all those weeks ago. I love it when the universe responds to my requests right away! *grin*

A few weeks ago, my cousin Sue got married in NY. I couldn't go, but the photographer put the photos up on the web to see, which was cool! So yesterday, I spent the day downloading some of them, and taking some liberties with them, and with the storyline, and I created a little flash movie for them as a wedding gift of sorts. (I wonder - this can't be the first flash movie given in place of a toaster, do you think? *grin*) It's kinda strange being so far away from relatives - we used to see each other a few times a year, and every year on Christmas Eve at my great aunts house. Now, Sue's younger brother Jeff, for instance, already has a wife and a baby too, and I remember when he used to be a foot or so shorter than I was - LOL. But anyway.

When I was a kid, growing up in the Syracuse area of upstate New York (Bridgeport and Liverpool), it rained a lot. And when there were sunny days, Mom always said, "It's a nice day; you should be outside." So, rainy days became a day where it was okay to stay inside and do inside things. When I moved to North Carolina after college, there were a TON of "nice days" and I always felt like I SHOULD be doing something outside, even when I didn't feel like it. In California, MOST of the days are "nice" (although I prefer the term "sunny" since "nice" is definitely subjective and not my preferred label) and the subtle pressure to do something or be active seems omnipresent almost. I don't like it. Today though, a beautiful, steady rain is falling, and I'm remembering what it feels like to let myself do "inside" things without feeling any kind of weird compulsion. *grin*
The interesting thing here is that the high and low pressure systems actually correspond to how I feel emotionally - high pressure to 'do' when it's sunny, and low pressure or relaxation when it's rainy. Ack - I feel so predictable! LOL.

I have a small photo layout for you now - just click: Seacliff Photos. (The 'ship' you think you see in one of two of the photos is a rusted, scrapped bulk at the end of the pier.)

Fun day yesterday! Took photos in the rain and after the rain, lots of the surf and some other interesting beach oddities, including tom and John - *evil grin* I'll put up some photos - hopefully later today - but I've got a few things to do first, so hang in there!

Today we're taking a ride up through the mountains (hills - LOL) to the west and heading to the coast for a bit. "They" are saying that there's another storm coming in for Wednesday and they have high surf advisories for the whole area. Cool! Gettin' some new batteries for the camera - hopefully we'll have some cool photos for you soon. :-)
BTW, never try to go to sleep when you're not tired just because you know you're going to get up early the next day. It doesn't really work, and you end up feeling annoyed. Not that that's what happened to ME of course.... *grin*

So I get an email from tom saying, in the subject line, "Where is fox vox?" - without even opening it I check - I get a 'file not found' error. What? So... I'm republishing this in hopes this will solve whatever difficulties had arisen!

If I'm remembering this correctly, the initial definition of the word 'barbarian' was simply someone who did not speak Greek. And the definition of a 'heathen' means someone who is not of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Isn't it interesting how these words of EXCLUSION came to connote, in general, derogatory labels? (deep thought of the day)

Whew! I'm coming up for air after having spent the day learning how to install a perl stats log for our new web site. Old hat for programmers, but new hat for me! I even downloaded a telnet program and telnetted in, which was unnecessary, but fun, and brought back memories of college, where we'd log into the unix shell all the time to get our email. I even remembered some commands that I'd completely forgotten about until I sat back down at that shell prompt - a little scary that the information came up so easily! *grin*

John was listening to a public radio station in the car, and they announced that they have a slot open and are taking proposals for a show! When he got home, John emailed them about doing a show on 'conscious creation' and they wrote back and say they are intrigued - how about a detailed proposal! So we may be doing a conscious creation radio show sometime soon - wow! We've been tossing around ideas and jotting them down. They also asked for a demo tape, so we'll have to create one of those too, probably. The original timeslot they mentioned was Saturday from 2 a.m. - 5 a.m. (doh!) but when the program director wrote back, he said something about keeping the weekends for music and maybe we could do it during the week instead? I don't know if that also means a different time, but we'll see. The only other 'thing' is that although it's the most 'local' public radio station, it's still like an hour and a half away. Hmmmm. Lots of things to put into place here, but it's exciting!
Also, the other site we're working on is also coming together nicely... hardly know what to work on first! BLAH! *grin*
