Richard Bach, in his book "Illusions" once said something to the tune of, "How do you know when you're done with what you came here to do? If you're still alive, you're not done." And so, in the "when you're done, you're done" category comes the story of a 74-year old man who died right after carrying the Olympic torch on the torch relay. (Thanks to The Other Side for this bit.)

Since I seem to be intrigued by crop circle art lately - here's one for you - slightly colorized to suit my passing whim. Quite fractal-ish, don't you think? I believe this photo was taken in England. :-)

Woke up this morning to actual RAIN - yes! All the sage bushes, live oak trees, and walnut trees around us are sighing in pleasure, as are we. And the weather is cool as well - overall, this is a tremendous creation for September in California. I might have to celebrate by burning a little trash! What? Normal people get their trash picked up at the curb? Huh - how cosmopolitan! Not for us though - out here we get to watch as waxy orange juice cartons turn black and burn with teal flames - and we also get to experiment to see what kinds of trash explodes better. Oddly enough, putting old cooking grease on trash doesn't really do all that much (just some spattering) - but popcorn kernels make good noise and sealed plastic (non-recyclable, of course) containers make funny decompressing sounds as their hulls get breached. And paper is a real BITCH to burn - takes too long and there's too much ash to make it worth while, unless it's the emotional satisfaction of burning old bills. *grin*

This afternoon I took a quick nap and had a dream vision of a bald eagle swooping up to my window to get my attention, look me in the eye, and then swoop away. About an hour after I get up, I'm about to take the dogs out, and look outside. There's a very large hawk sitting on our gate, about 50 feet away! Suddenly the hawk leaps off the gate and swoops down at this flock of finches - they scatter, and the hawk comes up empty clawed to nest in a nearby tree, then flies away. Lots of interesting symbolism here to look at!

I'm not up on the latest news about crop circles, but when I clicked on this article and photo, I was amazed at the photo - I've never seen such an intricate crop circle - and I've certainly never seen one that looked like a snowflake! Very pretty, actually.

This morning, our propane service called early to see if we wanted a delivery. But, John answered the phone, and before I knew who it was, I could have sworn he said, "Oh, sure, let me go check the lottery tickets." Which, in my sleep-adled mind - made perfect sense to me - someone was calling to tell us to check the lottery tickets. Instead, I think he said, "Oh, sure, let me go check the level of the tank." ROFLMAO! Going to check the lottery tickets now though - just in case. :-)

Ever been in a cow stampede? *grin* This morning, a pickup truck drove by and through the creekbed and then continued up the road. It would have been a normal occurrance, but it was towing a small trailer that rattled and BANGED like all hell had broken loose. And it scared the neighbor's entire herd - they were running this way and that, mooing and shrieking and honking, trying to get back to the barn WITHOUT navigating by the fences - Egad! Luckily, they calmed down after a little while. I experienced an irrate cow ONCE - it had gotten on our little stretch of road by jumping a barbed wire fence instead of going back the way it came and then couldn't get out (this was way before the midnight cow incident I blogged about before - that wasn't irrate - just confused and a little frustrated.) I said to John, "I think we should open the gate over there and let it out." Problem was - it was a BIG cow and it was RUNNING around, back and forth, and before we could decide HOW to get the gate open without getting trampled, BAM - she broke right through the boards to the side of the gate. Problem solved. *grin* (When we move to civilization, you guys are going to miss the cow stories - admit it.)

For the last few days I've been experiencing a LOT of energy coming at me. I didn't notice it at first, but I did notice that my brain seemed to be running on overdrive and I would wake up at night, sometimes for HOURS, and just lay there, kinda ancy and annoyed - I was fighting the energy because I couldn't label it as anything I usually felt (when I feel annoyed, I'm usually resisting something coming in). What I finally decided I should do is stop trying to THINK my way through it all, because I really had no matching thoughts for it, and just FEEL the energy - accept it. When I did that, I realized that the energy felt very powerful, and I had to breathe more deeply. And, it occurred to me that I had been shoving this energy away from me, but it had always been a PART of me - I guess that's what happens when you let go of a ton of limiting beliefs, your power comes back on. LOL. Anyway - it was kinda wild realizing that this "power" WAS me. It reminded me of a Xena episode I caught once where Aries (yes, a god) gave Gabrielle a taste of what it felt like to have godlike powers, and he said, "See - that's what I feel like ALL THE TIME." (Oh, no, Kristen's doing the 'godlike powers' thing again - get the spray!) *grin*

The researchers are reluctant to use the name "cold fusion" for their technique. "But it's colder than anything else going" Scientists can be a funny bunch, they ARE talking about cold fusion no matter what they call it. It is my opinion that the next major technological revolution will provide or be a dramatic increase in the amount of energy we have at our disposal. Cold fusion, hot fusion, overunity, all, or none, I don't claim to foresee where it will come from, but I'm quite certain it's well on it's way.

Many of you have probably already seen this article, but I think it's a fantastic tribute to how our imaginations create things that our 'rational' minds would never even think of - LOL: Human head found in belly of Barrier Reef cod - AND - thank GOD I live in a probability where people exist who are willing to micromanage CHEESE. *grin*

The fact that eGroups is now putting ads at the TOP of each list email, not just the digests, is another sign that advertising on the net as a means of paying for services is NOT working. It seems really desperate to me, ads yelling "LOOK AT ME!!!" while stomping around in frustration. I KNOW there's a better way, and I'm applying my imagination towards those ends. In a metaphysical sense, I think we're moving out of phase with the idea of selling pieces of ourselves to get a little of what we want. The more in-depth we understand the ideas of "reality creation" the more the ideas of compromise and conflict become passe'. What I REALLY think is key here though is busting out of the restrictive box that banner ads are the ONLY way free services on the internet can remain free - sure it seems that way, but isn't that the whole point of challenges? To think in a NEW way? I DO "think" so.

I swear there was an X-Files episode about underground, meat eating plants. Life imitating Gillian Anderson I guess. If meat eating plants aren't your thing, here is the story of some cool dowsing twins. After all that reading you might want to relax and have a glass of 300 year old wine. Just remember to hold your nose.

It's time to celebrate the ability humans have to focus on what interests them and to ignore the rest... we also celebrate the astonishing and quite individual diversity of this focus. Meaning - what interests one person may be the most boring thing in the world to someone else. To demonstrate this diverse focusing capacity, perhaps to the extreme, we have 'Obscene Interiors' - a couple of interior design people who collected amateur pornography pictures (from the web?), greyed out the people, and made 'severe' comments about the walls, decor, and furniture surrounding these grey blobs. ROFLMAO.

Finally, a "Beer You Can Believe In!" *grin* John was searching through all the micro-brews at the grocery store the other day, looking for an Oregon-based beer just for the hell of it: Full Sail Pale, which naturally, also has a web site. Not only can you believe in it, but you can also drink it - very tasty!

Cows - the ultimate in plant-based composting. It's the end of summer and there's not much left around here for the neighbor's cows to eat until the rainy season starts. But yesterday, John pulled a whole bunch of these prickly weeds out of the 'garden' area on the side of our house and tossed them over the fence, and I threw some VERY 'dried' (read: 'dead') cut flowers over the fence as well. Today, the herd shuffles by, and a very pregnant cow finds our secret stash and eats it ALL. (It's kind of an odd shift of perception to see something that was once in a vase in your kitchen being chewed on by a large hooved animal.) The circle of life is complete. *grin* I hope she doesn't mind being mentioned online - I'll ask her after she's done eating. heh heh.

And yes, with this whole "testing" thing, the fact that for the last few years we've lived in a converted SCHOOLHOUSE has not escaped my attention. :-)
posted:12:26 PM | link |

I think I'm trying to tell myself that the time for 'testing' or even my belief in 'tests' is over. I've been in the 'test' mindset ever since elementary school and often had dreams of having not studied for tests when I got stressed. Last night I had a school dream about tests and I started to feel the shock and horror - LOL - but something felt off - like that wasn't what I was really feeling anymore. Almost like I didn't care. And the other day (in waking life) a phone guy came to check the line and he pulled this small device out of the phone box - he said it was a tester device that sometimes gets left in and can cause problems with the transfer of data. Seems rather relevant to me. I'm going to have to mull over this whole "testing" attitude I think! *grin*

This looks interesting. It seems to have a few old style beliefs about how psychic abilities work, but it also has some good tips and exercises. I suggest skipping the whole first part and going to "advanced skills" but that's just me *grin*

FACE-LIFT MY ASS!!! Um, wait...... never mind. *grin*
posted:12:29 PM | link |

Have you ever been in a mood where you had to be 'creating' or expressing energy in some way? I've been doodling on everything for (well, for my entire life, but...) like a few days straight now. When John was on the phone I was just writing down random phrases as he said them. And then I had an impulse to start playing with new design ideas for the blog page. When I'm not doing that I'm singing to myself in some way. LOL. Sometimes I feel it's like a way to continue drawing through my own energy or staying centered. In any case, I'm having a lot of fun - just hope I don't run out of paper or John's t-shirt collection's going to get a face-lift. *grin*
