Some Details and Proper Nouns
Lists
of names and places... I was born in Syracuse, NY, USA (that's
upstate, near the southeast corner of Lake Ontario) - lived
in the 'country' in Bridgeport, NY until fourth grade, when
we moved to Liverpool, NY - hello suburbs. Went to Clarkson
University in Potsdam, NY (about an hour's drive south from
Ottawa and Montreal, Canada) - first two years I was a computer
science major and then ended up with a B.S. in Technical Communications
with a minor in Computer Science. After graduation, moved to
Raleigh, NC, where I was a technical writer for a hospital information
systems company (then called MSA - Management Systems Associates,
now called A4Health Systems, probably so they could be first
in the phone book) and where I got to be part of an excellent
group of writers called The Pleiades Society. Then I got the
urge to quit my job and move to the Seattle area, which was
REALLY great weather wise... and which doesn't explain why,
after meeting John and moving his stuff from Brooklyn, cross
country, in a van, we moved to CALIFORNIA instead, but that's
a MUCH longer story.
At the moment we live in a converted one room schoolhouse WAY
OUT in the hills of central CA, cow country, in a little town
called Paicines (population 100 - not kidding), with our two
dogs, a black lab we adopted from a family that was moving to
Chicago, and a lab/Queensland Heeler mix we adopted from the
animal shelter as a puppy. And two rather large red-ear slider turtles named Penelope and Myrtle.
