The problem with articles like this is the same problem most articles about kids have. They talk all about what dangers lurk but never even touch on the idea that kids aren't encouraged to think for themselves. It's usually just ASSUMED that kids are some kind of blank slate for all the craziness out there and that they can be sucked in easily because they have no will of their own. Sure, kids are curious. They should be! But if you encourage and support them with making decisions from the core of their OWN integrity (not just following a set of moral codes or rules set down by "authorities") they'd be much better off. Wailing "Won't someone please think of the children!" sets up children as victims, and that's the LAST thing kids ought to BELIEVE about themselves! Bleh.
